The lieutenant governor, the governor shall appoint a successor, rick scott. so here we are coming up on a year and florida still does not have a new one. and so lawsuit. the florida democratic activists who filed this lawsuit today against rick scott told reporters, i think it s time he s done his job. it s been nine months. a woman could have conceived and delivered a baby in that time. which is true. now here s where it gets really interesting. because as slow as rick scott might seem to have been about picking a replacement, rick scott has, in fact, tried to appoint people to fill that office. he has tried. first he tried a county school superintendent, but the school superintendent turned him down. said no. so zo then he tried a county sheriff. but the county sheriff also turned him down and said no. then he floated the name of a state senator who didn t exactly say no but who did make it very clear that he s quite open to taking a whole different job ....
