Senate 48th District seat PennLive.com 5 hrs ago Jan Murphy, pennlive.com The Republicans’ 38-year stronghold in the Pennsylvania Senate’s 48th District remained intact in Tuesday’s special election. Republican Christopher Gebhard held a lead in the four-man race over his closest opponent, Democrat Calvin Clements, in the contest to fill the open seat. The 48th district covers all of Lebanon County and portions of Dauphin and York counties. Unofficial results from the Pennsylvania Department of State with a few precincts still missing show Gebhard with 63% of the more than 37,500 votes that had been counted as of 11:55 p.m. Clements had 29% of the vote. Libertarian Tim McMaster won 3% and independent Ed Krebs, who ran for the Bring People Together Party, had 6%.

Republicans appeared poised to keep the Pennsylvania 48th Senate District as Christopher Gebhard claimed victory with a majority of votes in Tuesday s special election.  The North Cornwall resident held a sizable lead in a special election Tuesday against Democrat Calvin Clements, independent Ed Krebs and Libertarian Tim McMaster. The district includes Lebanon County and parts of York and Dauphin counties.

2021 Municipal Primary Election Recap 2021 Municipal Primary Election Recap 0 226 Pennsylvania’s 2021 municipal primary took place yesterday (Tuesday, May 18). Statewide, Pennsylvania officials sent out 820,757 mail and absentee ballots. As of 5/18, voters had returned roughly 69% of these ballots. With vote tallying still ongoing,  all results are UNOFFICIAL. Statewide Ballot Questions Four statewide ballot questions were on the primary election slate for Pennsylvania voters to decide; including three that would make changes to the state’s constitution. The questions included two specific referendums that address how future state of emergencies will be handled in Pennsylvania. Question one asked voters to amend the state constitution to limit all state of emergencies issued by a governor to 21 days. 53.61% voted YES.
