Garcia-photo Sedgwick County SEDGWICK COUNTY A Kansas woman who admitted to driving under the influence and leaving the scene of a fatal crash is going to prison.A Sedgwick County District Court Judge sentenced 27-year-old Lila Garcia of Wichita, to 32 months in prison with 24 months of post release, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.In August of 2021 Garcia was driving a car eastbound at Pawnee and Woodlawn in Wichita . She turned the car t in front of a westbound motorcycle driven by Albert Ortiz-Carrasco, 34 of Wichita. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Garcia left the scene. Sheriff's deputies later found her car at her home in the 900 block of S. Fabrique.In January, Garcia pled guilty to driving under the influence and leaving the scene of the accident.
“I am not playing with you now,” one of the paramedics told the patient, according to a video. The police said the emergency medical personnel “acted indifferently” in their response.
