The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is considering expanding the "compensatory regulatory charges" to south and east Delhi, which could raise the cost of building houses in these areas. The charges will be determined based on the built-up area of new residential constructions or extensions. The revenue generated from these charges will be used for the maintenance and development of infrastructure within the MCD s jurisdiction.
