WESTERLY, RI Westerly s delegates to the State House will address the Town Council Monday to discuss the Rhode Island state budget and its expected impact upon the municipal budget in the upcoming fiscal year.

Council President Sharon Ahern invited the state lawmakers to help inform local officials. According to The Westerly Sun, the School Committee approved a $59.4 million budget for the coming fiscal year, a 2.32% increase over current spending. But because of expected cuts from the state, the budget would require a $1.6 million or 3.32% percent boost from local taxpayers. Town Manager ....
