A senior at The Shipley School, Abigail Kanes is a standout student and a creative singer/musician/actor. Kanes belongs to the schoolâs Glee Club, the Shipley Jazz honors combo and the Shipley Singers (the schoolâs auditioned a cappella group), and participates in three major theatrical productions each year at Shipley. Outside of Shipley, she is associate principal bassist for the Delaware County Youth Orchestra and for the past 10 years has participated in seasonal acting roles at the Hedgerow Theater Company. Q: What has been your favorite theatrical production at Shipley, and why? A: My favorite production at Shipley has been Legally Blonde, the winter musical last year. I played Margot, one of Elle Woodâs sorority sisters and it was so much fun. We were lucky enough to put on our production the weekend before school shut down because of COVID. This was my favorite production because I formed a tight knit group with the sorority sisters I was performing ....
