Beltway getting to work or school, wherever you re going. as i mentioned, a tornado watch for eastern portions of north carolina, virginia and the del marva including washington, d.c. very rare for the first day of december. those winds, i mentioned they re howling, 38-mile-per-hour gusts in d.c. 25 in new york and fimly. significant airport delays, of course, in weather like this expected. as we go through out the rest of the day, we ll see slow improvements, it s going to take a while. the temperatures are 60 degrees right now. look at pittsburgh at 33. the temperatures are going to come crashing down. it s going to be windy, rainy and cold as we go through out the day. as advertised, give yourself a lot of extra time traveling from d.c. to baltimore, philly, new york, and eventually even up in boston. the rest of the country looks just fine. we ll keep an eye on d.c. this morning. strong storms moving through right now. you re watching morning joe brewed by starbucks. A couple things on the satellite imagery, the last couple i m memgs, that s some dry air coming into it, and that is helping with the weakening. that has been weakening it. and these are all great things if you are out across areas of the outer banks. we are going to feel the affects. when you are on the left side of the storm, winds will be coming in this case out of the north. and that means we will be piling this water into the sound, and that over wash we see uh across highway 12 will be coming from the backside of it and not coming from the coastal areas. that s what will be the biggest problem. the hurricane-force winds that are indicated in the red are well offshore. those are the sustained hurricane-force winds. hurricane gusts in the orange and tropical storm-force winds in the yellow area are extending farther inland. we will see some of that for a short period of the day around the del marva and the jersey shore and across parts of long island. and here you go, this is the ....
Delma delmarva. we re starting to see the rains take shape. you see everything is rotating in off the atlantic so there s your moisture source. we re also going to have a storm come up this part of the world here as these two guys combine and roll north and east as we go through time. so with that in mind, not only are we going to have rain with this but a decent amount of wind. so it s going to be high beach erosion across the del marva. inland areas where there s a snowpack we ll see flooding rains because of the heavy snow. that stretches all the way back through parts of the midwest. des moines and fargo will see the snowpack melt on top of rain and that s an ongoing story i think right through at least next week. here are your flood warnings are in effect and watches from cleveland all the way down to greenville, back up through new york city and fairfield county actually all the way to rhode ....
