DeKALB – Everyone thinks you need a strong wind for kites to fly, but that didn’t stop anyone at the DeKalb Kite Fest this Sunday. The 18th annual DeKalb Kite Fest took off at 11 a.m. Sunday, filling Kiwanis Park and the sky with multicolored kites of all shapes and sizes. The breezy afternoon welcomed.

As the holiday season spurs into action, a local museum put up its Christmas decorations and rang in the holiday cheer this weekend. The Ellwood House Museum, 420 Linden Place, hosted its annual Holiday Event Weekend on Dec. 2. Changing its interior design from the standard late-1800s decor that it usually has, the museum dolled.
DeKALB – Two positions for the DeKalb Park Board have opened up for the consolidated election set to occur on April 4, 2023. The positions will be filled by the County Clerk’s Election Division and each will serve a four-year term when elected. Petition filing will begin on Dec. 12 and end on Dec. 19,.
