The proposed changes are still subject to a state-level review and final action from the county commission. But if they are approved as recommended by the Planning Commission following its April 8 meeting, residential density in areas zoned for large-scale agriculture would increase from the currently allowed one unit per 40 acres to one unit per 5 acres. In general agricultural areas, the allowable density also would move to one unit per 5 acres, as opposed to the currently allowed one unit per 10 acres.
In both instances, parcels on which the increased density could be applied would be required to have at least 100 feet of frontage on a county-maintained road.  ....
