so this is mueller has got very good reason for putting in chapter and verse what was asked, what was answered and what the facts are which lead bob mueller to say he s been lying to us. and i expect that will include e-mails, text messages, bank records and other witness statements to support his contention that manafort has been lying to them in their debriefings. peter zeidenberg, thank you very much for joining us tonight. i appreciate it. congressman eric swalwell joins us next. let s do the thing that you do. let s clear a path. let s put down roots. let s build something. let s do the thing that you do. let s do the thing that changes the shape of everything.
would be a way of getting a lot of those facts, not 100-page report certainly, but significant factual predicate for why robert mueller believes paul manafort has been lying. this is going to be a contested issue. manafort s attorneys are going to say, no, our guy was telling the truth all along. so this is mueller has got very good reason for putting in chapter and verse what was asked, what was answered and what the facts are which lead bob mueller to say he s been lying to us. and i expect that will include e-mails, text messages, bank records and other witness statements to support his contention that manafort has been lying to them in their debriefings. peter zeidenberg, thank you very much for joining us tonight. i appreciate it. congressman eric swalwell joins us next. but some give their clients cookie cutter portfolios.
lying to me in debriefings and in the grand jury, and i had individual plead guilty for lying in front of the grand jury. and this is unheard of, i had my cooperator plead guilty to lying at a guilty plea. so i took it very seriously. let me get you on one more thing. trump has publicly said he didn t know about the trump tower meeting. that s different than saying it to the if he does. i just talked to someone who s under heat for lying to the fed, which is a crime. but before the trump tower meeting trump was bragging he had new dirt coming in on hillary. take a look. i am going to give a major speech on probably monday of next week and we re going to be discussing all of the things that have contataken place with clintons. you re going to find it informative and very interesting. how does mueller answer this
material, that manafort misled mueller about, was this? yeah, for me you know, it s so hard to say. i mean, manafort s been in countless debriefings with the government. whether it was this set of facts or some other set of facts that he was denying or not admitting to, that the government just didn t believe him, it s hard to say. is it a coincidence that the information comes out on the same day? it could be. clearly what s most important, of course, that is the government is no longer sponsoring manafort, and that is a huge loss for the government, and frankly, a huge win for the president. mimi, your view? i don t necessarily take that view. first of all, i think that there s no question for them to rip up the agreement with manafort, to say that he breached it, it had to be about something important, right? they went to all this trouble, they re not going to do it over some small lie about something immaterial. and it also is backed up by evidence. the fact that they know
maybes. and that s something we can trust. it won t be coming from the president or democrats or it won t be coming from republicans, it will simply be coming from the special investigator. paul manafort not cooperating any longer with the team. how much of a blow is it to mueller s team and does it delay this investigation? i think it is a blow and probably does delay the investigation to some extent. but that doesn t mean the debriefings with him were completely useless. it sounds like mueller reached the point where he thinks he has no credibility as a witness because he lied but there may be information that he provided to mueller and his team that is a value, that can be corroborated and they can use in the prosecution of other people. so it s hard to know without knowing what the specific lies were, how damaging it was. we do know robert mueller knew he was lying, as least he says so in his pleading, so there must be some evidence out there that refutes what he s saying. so i
