ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS For the second time in as many months, the governing body on Wednesday discussed the performance of the borough clerk,
this time sparring over a resolution for a paid leave of absence.
Councilman William Woo said the impetus for the resolution was Borough Clerk Lisette Duffy s failure to keep reliable records, namely emails sent and received by himself, as well as meeting minutes.
Woo, a Republican, also said the council is “waiting on findings from the prosecutor’s office” but did not go into detail as to what was being investigated.
Councilman Glenn Luciano, a Democrat who was appointed last week to fill a vacancy, said he found the reasoning “concerning.” He noted that the borough is already suing its former IT professional regarding the allegedly missing emails.
