The Retired Teachers of Ontario donated $1000 toward the building of the Rotary Peace Park in Kenora. Presentation was made on location of the planned Rotary Peace Park. Left to Right John Dahl (fundraising chair), Josie Groen (president of Retired Teachers Ontario District 26) and Debra LeMaistre (co-chair Peace Park Committee). The RTO have been very supportive of Rotary in the past, giving support to feed students thru the Nutrition on Weekends program (NOW), the Splash Park and to the building of the Rotary Peace Park. Burgers for Peace was a huge success for both the Rotary Peace Park and Bob’s Burger Bar. The event happened on April 19th when Bob Firth opened his restaurant for take out orders with a portion of each burger sold going towards the construction of the Rotary Peace Park.
