took a hit in the debt debate debauchle. as many americans feel some tea party people were simply too militant. also tea party stalwarts like sarah palin continue to have big negatives. now, on to the presidential race. 46% of americans think mitt romney would do a better job than barak obama on the economy. 42% say obama would be better. 41% say governor rick perry of texas would be more effective on the economy. but 43% think obama would do a better job than perry. most americans don t know much about governor perry yet, so polling on him could change very quickly. today s data demonstrates that americans continue to be very frustrated with the economy and fully understand the president s current policies aren t helping. but the majority do continue to blame mr. bush for getting us into the mess in the first place. that gives barak obama some hope, but tea party continues to see, 2 1/2 years is a long time and we re not seeing the improvement needed in the economy, period. no excuses
