Cardington council OKs paving bid By Evelyn Long - For The Sentinel CARDINGTON Village council May 17 approved the recommendation of the village engineer to accept the bid of Kokosing Construction Company for the 2021 paving program and authorized the acting village administrator, Walt Pollock, and Fiscal Officer, Deb Fry, to enter into a contract in the amount of $138,837.50, the base bid. In other business: • Council accepted Mayor Susie Peyton’s and Chief of Police, James Wallace’s recommendation of executing the Radio Dispatching Agreement with the Morrow County Sheriff for 2022. This resolution is in effect and in force at the earliest time permitted by law.

Carsner re-joins cemetery board By Evelyn Long - For The Sentinel Opening the Cardington Village council meeting Monday evening was their semi-annual meeting with Cardington Township trustees and members of the Glendale Union Cemetery Board. All approved the re-appointment of Scott Carsner as a member-at-large. Carsner, a member of the Glendale Union Cemetery Board, was absent. Also absent was Cardington Township Trustee Brandon Strain. In other business: • Deb Fry, village fiscal officer, reported on her attendance at two recent American Rescue Plan Act Seminars, related to funds disbursed directly to villages of less than 50,000 by the State Office of Budget and Management. Fry also questioned council as to how they would like to conduct the RITA delinquent tax payer letter program.

Carsner re-joins cemetery board By Evelyn Long - For The Sentinel Opening the Cardington Village council meeting Monday evening was their semi-annual meeting with Cardington Township trustees and members of the Glendale Union Cemetery Board. All approved the re-appointment of Scott Carsner as a member-at-large. Carsner, a member of the Glendale Union Cemetery Board, was absent. Also absent was Cardngton Township Trustee Brandon Strain. Other township trustees who were present are Michael Patterson, Doug Heacock and Darla Hardwick, township treasurer. Members of the Glendale Union Cemetery Board are Jim Morris, representing village council; Vicki Ullom, treasurer, Heacock and Carsner. In other business:

Cardington pays for work at plant - Morrow County Sentinel

Cardington pays for work at plant CARDINGTON Topics were wide ranging when Village Council met Monday, April 19. Addressing council was Dave Krock, partner with OHM advisors engineering firm, who described the shortage in funding and the additional engineering costs for the recent upgrading of the water treatment plant. Council approved the additional payment to the firm in the amount of $50,000. Krock was accompanied by the village’s engineer, Scott Hines. On other business: • Wes Goodman. representing Friends of Cardington, and Rick Mitchell from Bunker’s Mill Winery described the planned Wine Arts Festival taking place in Cardington on Sept. 25. • Lea Ann Maceyko with Friends of Cardington, detailed plans for the festival planned for the village in June. Among the attractions will be the annual fireworks sponsored by Cardington Yutaka Technologies. Council donated $1,000 to the event.
