Red Creek prescription fire to begin this week

Red Creek prescription fire to begin this week USFS Previous prescribed fire operations at Red Creek DRIGGS, Idaho (KIFI)-The Teton Basin Ranger District will continue its multi-year Red Creek prescribed fire project beginning Wednesday or Thursday. Dependent on weather, it will continue over the next several weeks within the Red Creek Project area, just north of Highway 31 in the area of Pine Creek Pass.    During operations, Forest Service Train #230 (Rocky Peak) will be affected and the public should choose another recreation location. Fire managers are using the timeframe to take advantage of snow drifts and high ground moisture levels to limit spread of the fire.  The remainder of the project will occur later this summer or fall.
