DEARBORN COUNTY, In. (FOX19) - New Year’s Day is full of traditions, including plunging into 2021 in Indiana.
At Hidden Valley Lake, it’s not the weather that put a dampener on the yearly New Year’s Polar Plunge, but the pandemic rules on gathering.
“It was a tough decision,” Polar Plunge co-Host Darryl Howe said of not hosting the event. “But I did talk with the Dearborn County Health Department, and I also ran it through our head valley board, and they were supportive of it as long as we were able to comply with the current requirements, covered requirements.” ....

DCHD Releases Weekly Morbidity & Mortality Report

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – The Dearborn County Health Department has released its latest COVID-19 Morbidity and Mortality Report.
According to the report, 611 county residents were tested for COVID-19 between December 21-27, down from 653 a week prior.
Of the tests performed, 331 came back negative while 280 were positive.
Dearborn County remains in red status on the Indiana State Department of Health’s color-coded map with a 7-day all tests positivity rate of 20.07 percent, up from 19.1 percent last week.
According to the DCHD, 97 individuals age 51-80 tested positive for the virus over the past seven days, the most of any age group. ....

DCHD Releases Morbidity & Mortality Report For Dec. 7-12

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – The Dearborn County Health Department has released its latest COVID-19 Morbidity and Mortality Report.
According to the report, 785 county residents were tested for COVID-19 between December 7-13, up from 748 a week prior.
Of the tests performed, 420 came back negative while 365 were positive.
Dearborn County remains in red status on the Indiana State Department of Health’s color-coded map with a 7-day all tests positivity rate of 18.1 percent.
According to the DCHD, 130 individuals age 51-80 tested positive for the virus over the past seven days, the most of any age group. ....
