Henderson County (Apr 26, 2022) - David Ellis, who retired on Dec. 31 as Chief Medical Officer for Pardee UNC Health Care, was presented with the Order of the Long Leaf Pine at a private ceremony with family and close friends on Wednesday, April 20.

“If they need a toy, I’m gonna give it to them, said Santa s Workshop chairman Deanna Ellis.
And that’s the way it’s been since 1983, when Santa’s Workshop was founded in Chickasha.
Families in need who qualify can sign up and load up on gifts for their children.
They typically help 500 families each year.
“I know you either buy a toy or you pay a bill. The bills have to come first, and that’s why it’s important to be here, said Ellis.
This week is their signature event when the workshop is open Monday through Friday.
