If getting a government-issued tattoo that proved you’d been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 meant that you could freely enter public spaces and vacation anywhere in the world simply by displaying it, would you get one? Using the word “freely” doesn’t quite seem to fit, does it? 
The absurdity of such a concept is explored in writer-director Kaouther Ben Hania’s “The Man Who Sold His Skin,” which will be available for streaming rental at Athens Ciné beginning April 16.
The film is a 2021 Academy Award nominee for Best International Feature, making Ben Hania the first-ever Muslim woman to be nominated in that category.  ....

A fascinating true story mixing art and human rights has inspired a regrettably ham-fisted movie in “The Man Who Sold His Skin,” Tunisian filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania’s lush but wildly uneven yarn (and Oscar nominee for international feature) about the thorny convergence of art world privilege and real-world woes.
