Under that hurricane warning, so you think about the system, we focus on the center so often, but you have a large swath of those tropical storm force winds and hurricane force winds out of the center. so they could get winds, but not only that, some storm surge as well and really have some large values here. yes, the levies are going to help. but what we have to watch out for besides that is the rainfall. alex, just a really life-threatening amount of rainfall. some of the forecasts are really looking at 10 to 15 inches of rain, some places could get 20 inches of rain. so even if you have a system to the west of the city, you can still get that rainfall, you can still get tornados associated with it. outside of those risk reduction systems, those areas are still vulnerable to the storm surge. so you ve got to watch out for these and listen to local officials and while it s daylight out, today is the day to really get preparations complete. point well taken. i hope folks are listenin ....
