Son arrested in slaying of 73-year-old father near Rochester

IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. (AP) A 33-year-old man has been arrested for the murder of his father in the Rochester suburb of Irondequoit, police said.
David O. Ramos, 73, was found dead in his home early Saturday, police said. His son Danny Ramos was arrested Sunday on a charge of second-degree murder.
Police did not release details including how David Ramos died.
Neighbors described the slain man as friendly and generous. “I’m gonna miss him because he was one of the good guys,” Michael Anzalone told WHEC. Anzalone said Ramos would often invite him over, saying, Hey, come on in for coffee if you want, a cup of coffee or something, have some coffee with me Mikey.”
A 33-year-old man has been accused of killing his father in Irondequoit.
Danny Ramos on Sunday was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of his father David O. Ramos, 73, at a residence on the 2500 block of Culver Road, said Capt. Mark Jesske of the Irondequoit Police Department.
Officers were called to the scene around 3:45 a.m. Saturday and found the elder Ramos deceased.
Danny Ramos was arrested Sunday and arraigned in Irondequoit Town Court. He was remanded to the Monroe County Jail without bail and is scheduled to return to court on Thursday.
Police did not share any further details about the slaying, including how David Ramos died.

Irondequoit Police say that 33-year-old Danny Ramos has been arrested and charged Sunday for the death of his father, David O. Ramos. Ramos had been the subject of a
suspicious death investigation on Culver Road Saturday after his body was found around 3:48 a.m., although at the time his identity was withheld from the public pending notification of family.
Police say the body was found in the 2500 block of Culver Road, which encompassed Shire at Culverton.
Danny Ramos is facing a charge of 2nd-degree murder and was arraigned in Irondequoit Town Court on Sunday before being transferred to Monroe County Jail, where he is awaiting his next court appearance on Thursday, May 20.
