SDSU poll examines impact of COVID-19, vaccine hesitancy in South Dakota Dakota News Now staff BROOKINGS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - A new poll conducted by South Dakota State University found that opinions about COVID-19 as well as the vaccine aimed at stopping it remain widely varied in South Dakota, largely divided down political party lines. The South Dakota Covid Impact Survey was conducted from April 12 through April 25 by The SDSU Poll, according to SDSU Assoc. Professor David Wiltse. During that time period, roughly half of South Dakotans over age 16 had received at least one vaccine dose. Over 3,000 South Dakota voters completed the survey, which asked questions about the effect of the pandemic on their lives, opinions on the vaccine, and political and religious affiliation. ....

The open letter written on Wednesday said the political scientists are calling on the U.S. Congress, Vice President Mike Pence, and the Cabinet to immediately remove President Donald J. Trump from office through the impeachment process or by invoking the 25th Amendment. The letter has been signed by David L Wiltse, an associate professor, of South Dakota State University; Julia Hellwege, an assistant professor, of the University of South Dakota; Timothy Schorn, associate professor, USD; Ed Gerrish, assistant professor of public administration, USD; and Matthew Moen, professor emeritus at USD. ....
