The Washington Monument is closed through Jan. 24, and roads, parking and restrooms around the National Mall may close “if conditions warrant, to protect public safety and park resources,” the National Park Service said Monday.

Fee Free Days for National Park Sites Badlands National Park will waive its entrance fee on six days in 2021. The fee-free days are part of the Department of Interior’s commitment to increase access, promote recreational opportunities, improve visitor facilities and conserve natural and historical treasures in national parks for the benefit and enjoyment of the American people. The six entrance fee-free days for 2021 will be: Monday, January 18 – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Saturday, April 17 – First Day of National Park Week Wednesday, August 4 – Great American Outdoors Act anniversary Wednesday, August 25 – National Park Service Birthday Saturday, September 25 – National Public Lands Day
