Today, we continue that observance with histories from two men who lived the experience. In all of our lives, there are some things that are inevitable that we remember. 9 11, the assassination of john kennedy, and for older americans, the attack on pearl harbor is one of those things you never forget where you were what you were doing, and what happened on that day. The events of december 7, 19 41, certainly changed us individually, our parents, our country. Today we are going to talk with two speakers, both were young men on that fateful day. Services the city has, its a burden on the people who are already afraid to go out of their houses. Reporter resident sam objects to the countys plan to create a central hub for felons. The center will serve up to 75 exconvicts who lived in vallejo prior to serving their sentences. The Probation Department would oversee the center where felons will receive job search training, therapy, and educational services. We have to break the sickle. We cant psyche cycle. We cant keep locking them up. Reporter the program will lower vallejos recidivism rate, currently at about 35 . Supervisor barbara agrees theyre no longer going to be out and about. Reporter other residents also support the plan which would be funded by the state my sister was a felon. They need job training and education.
