Victim gets stolen bike back; suspected thief off to jail Davis police arrested a local man on drug charges last week and returned a stolen bicycle to its rightful owner in the process. According to a Davis Police Department Facebook post, the arrest happened last Thursday after officers from the department’s Community-Oriented Policing and Problem-Solving Unit contacted two individuals in the area of Olive Drive and Richards Boulevard who were believed to be involved in a drug transaction. David Rangel, 58, of Davis, was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs with intent to distribute after allegedly being found with about 50 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, police said. He also had a $3,000 bicycle that had been reported stolen on Dec. 3. ....
