Jupiter pilot makes emergency landing on I-75 February 3, 2021 at 12:00 PM EST - Updated February 3 at 7:26 PM A small plane piloted by a Jupiter man made an emergency landing Wednesday morning on Interstate 75 in western Broward County. Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said the single-engine Cessna 210 landed about 10:15 a.m. near mile marker 26, in the median dividing the north and southbound lanes. The pilot, David Olin, and a passenger on the plane weren t injured, Broward Sheriff s Office Department of Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Michael Kane said. (AP) A small plane safely landed Wednesday morning on a South Florida highway, officials said. The single-engine plane landed on southbound Interstate 75 in Broward County, near the Alligator Alley toll plaza, at about 10:15 a.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Florida Highway Patrol confirmed two men were in the aircraft. The plane was about 4,500 feet (1,400 meters) off the ground when it started having engine issues and began losing altitude, FHP Lt. Yanko Reyes said. The pilot attempted to find an airport, but when he reached 2,500 feet (800 meters) in altitude, he realized he needed to make an emergency landing, Reyes said. ....
