King’s Lynn serial paedophile jailed for longer
A man from King’s Lynn has had his jail sentence increased following an intervention by the Solicitor General, Rt Hon Lucy Frazer QC MP.
David Nicholas Wilson, 36, pleaded guilty to 96 offences including causing children to engage in sexual activity, and blackmail. Wilson sexually abused 52 boys online, posing as young girls to encourage, and sometimes to threaten and blackmail, his victims into sending him sexual photographs and videos of themselves and performing sexual acts on others.
On 10 February 2021, Wilson was sentenced to 25 years’ imprisonment with a licence extension of 8 years at Ipswich Crown Court. ....

The 52 victims in the case were all boys aged between four and 14 and the offending happened between May 2016 and April 2020.
But the National Crime Agency (NCA) said it had evidence that he approached more than 5,000 children globally and as many as 500 of them sent abuse material to Wilson.

Wilson set up a series of fake social media profiles, using unregistered phones, to send images of girls from the internet to young boys in exchange for the boys sending him videos and images of themselves, the NCA said. ....

A West Norfolk MP has renewed calls for Facebook to drop plans which police chiefs say will make it much harder to catch sex offenders using the platform.
The social media giant came under pressure last month after David Nicholas Wilson, from Lynn, was jailed for 25 years – plus eight on licence – for nearly 100 offences against boys.
Ipswich Crown Court heard Wilson, 36, had used multiple Facebook profiles pretending to be teenage girls to contact his victims.
David Wilson has been described as a highly dangerous individual by the National Crime Agency. ....
