Over the course of this semester so far, we have seen how appalachia, perhaps to a greater degree than any other american region is defined to the world and in the minds of its residents by outsiders. We have seen, for example, how industrialists employed the negative stereotype of the violent hillbilly to rationalize the seizure of thousands of acres of land on the boundary between kentucky and West Virginia. The image of appalachia as an impoverished and backward area continues to haunt the region to this day. Indeed, many residents have absorbed and inverted negative stereotypes of the region and its people and have also constructed new identities for themselves based upon how they think they are perceived. Loafers about i am an avid reader. Ive had a love of books since i was a child. My mom and so the love of reading for me and i always look forward to Summer Reading. Its exciting to share my Summer Reading lists. I had the privilege of representing new yorks 25th district in my district is deep in history related to the revolutionary war. I am always interested in history. Three of the books on my list this summer are champagne strain. I live on Lake Champlain and it talks about saying no dechamplains exploration of new york and some of the canadian province is. It talks about where i represent in congress. This is a great read highly recommended and it is by David Hackett fischer. The second book also related to my district is
