Hundreds of people lined the route waving flags, displaying posters, and cheering as the soldiers returned home Wednesday from a 10-month deployment to Africa. Barbara Grady of Granville was there to see her son, Specialist David Grady. “I am so delighted and God is so good and it turned out to be a beautiful day,” Grady says. Grady says she tried to ease any homesickness by corresponding with her son on a regular basis.

Readers react to rising Covid case rate in Swindon

Swindon Borough Council has warned about the town’s rising Covid case rate. In a post on social media, the authority said Swindon needs to ‘shift the car out of reverse’ in order to follow the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown. The seven-day rolling average for the town has increased to 115.7 per 100,000 from 91 per 100,000 last Friday. This is much higher than the south west average of 68.4 per 100,000. Boris Johnson’s roadmap out of the third national lockdown was revealed on Monday and begins with the reopening of schools on March 8. The Prime Minister hopes to remove all social restrictions and reopen the country fully on June 21.

Spenner is the eighteen-year-old son of Jeff and Lori Spenner of Remsen. He has three siblings, Olivia (13), Rylie (12), and Faith (10). His hobbies include hunting, archery, camping, boating, and scuba diving. He recently graduated from MMCRU High School on May 17, 2020. He currently works for CMG Construction and plans to attend WITCC for an associate s degree in police science. Remsen Postmaster Helen Kuehl was given many congratulations and well wishes during her Retirement Party, which was held outside behind the Remsen Post Office from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday, June 25. Kuehl has had an impressive 38+ years career in the Postal Service. She stated, I have 37.5 years in the Postal Service, but with my sick leave, it adds up to 38+. She has served as Postmaster in Remsen for almost seve
