LINCOLN – Thanks to the Conservation Commission’s Adopt-a-Spot initiative, family and friends of David Evans, a Vietnam veteran, are working together to care for the park named in his honor.
The family of 18-year-old Private First Class David Evans Jr. along with officials of the City of Buffalo are coming together this Memorial Day to honor Evans' bravery.
During a ceremony at the African American Veterans Monument, on Memorial Day, Congressman Brian Higgins presented the family of United States Army Pfc. David Evans Jr. with the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, Gold Star Lapel Pin and six additional military service medals earned while he served in the Iraq War.
