but buried deep inside the report is this jaw-dropping news. christie was allegedly told about the lane closures while they were happening. if true, this account directly contradicts the governor s public statements on when he knew. the report says that david wildstein, the port authority official who oversaw the closures informed christie about it at a september 11th memorial while the closings were under way. that seems like a big deal, right, that the governor knew of the massive traffic? here is the answer. the report says the governor does not recall that conversation. so when did the governor find out? here is what he said just last month. who brought that to your attention? was it staff? no it was news accounts. but you read them personally or did something bring to it your attention? no i read it. i read it in the wall street journal. he read it in the wall street journal ? here is that article, published october 1st, several weeks after the closing ....
