A stressful day for Bryan Thrift had a happy conclusion as he caught enough weight to win the Group B Qualifying Round at the MLF Heavy Hitters event in North Carolina.

Bryan Thrift caught five scorable bass totaling 17-15 to win the two-day Group B Qualifying Round at the MLF Heavy Hitters event in Raleigh, N.C. Thrifts two-day total of 18 bass weighing 62-06 earned him the round win by an 11-14 margin and advances him straight into Wednesdays Championship Round of competition. ....

RALEIGH, N.C. (April 10, 2021) – Pro Bryan Thrift of Shelby, North Carolina, boated 13 scorable bass totaling 44 pounds, 7 ounces to lead after day 1 for Qualifying Group B at the General Tire Heavy Hitters Presented by Bass Pro Shops. Thrift will bring a 6-pound, 12-ounce, lead over second-place pro Stephen Browning of Hot Springs, Arkansas, into Monday’s second day of competition in the Qualifying Round for Group B. Browning landed 11 scorable bass totaling 37-11, while pro Cliff Pace of Petal, Mississippi, rounds out the top three, catching 11 bass totaling 36-10 to end the day in third place. ....

Bryan Thrift boated 13 scorable bass totaling 44-07 from Falls Lake to lead after day 1 for Qualifying Group B at the at Heavy Hitters in Raleigh, N.C.. Thrift will take a 6-12 lead over 2nd-place Stephen Browning into Mondays second day of competition in the Qualifying Round for the grouop.
Browning landed 11 scorable bass totaling 37-11, while Cliff Pace rounds out the Top 3, catching 11 bass totaling 36-10 .
Sunday will be the third day of competition in the six-day all-star tournament that showcases 40 anglers who qualified from the 2020 Bass Pro Tour season competing for more than $535,000, including a top prize of $100,000 and Big Bass Bonuses with payouts of $25,000, $50,000 and $100,000 being awarded for the single biggest fish in the Qualifying, Knockout and Championship rounds. ....

Major League Fishing Pro Circuit winds up today at Lewis Smith Lake

North Alabama anglers will get a chance to learn some tricks from many of the nation’s best-known bass anglers today as the MLF Pro Circuit winds up a major event at Lewis Smith Lake west of Cullman.
This marks the fifth time the Tackle Warehouse Pro Circuit has visited Lewis Smith Lake. The Pro Circuit last visited Smith Lake in April 2018, when North Carolina pro David Williams took advantage of the shad spawn around the docks, bringing home the hardware with a four-day total of 64 pounds, 9 ounces. Prior to that, in March 2015, Pennsylvania pro Dave Lefebre sacked up 65 pounds, 5 ounces over four days, with a unique technique – targeting fish chasing blueback herring with a wakebait – to bring home the win. Lefebre also holds the record for the heaviest winning weight in a Pro Circuit event on Smith Lake. ....
