HARRISON TOWNSHIP Officials in Harrison Township are looking at 2021 like a clean slate, even if certain things are out of their control.
Township Supervisor Ken Verkest said workshops are scheduled for the Board of Trustees, which includes three new members, to become acclimated to aspects like budgets and providing the best course of action for residents and businesses to thrive.
In late December, Verkest said renovations had begun for the sheriff’s station, including demolition work on the inside. The former fire station near South River Road and Jefferson Avenue was originally contracted out for a miniature Macomb County Sheriff’s Office station. He said “they’re making progress,” but the timetable remains fluid due to COVID-19.
