KOTA KINABALU: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) supreme council members support the idea of Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam being made acting president when ailing party chief Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili takes leave from his presidential duties.

KOTA KINABALU: The supreme council members of Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) accept the decision of ailing Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili to go on leave and hand over the reins to his deputy Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam.
In the November 1999 federal election, PBS only managed 3 parliamentary seats, a far cry from the 8 seats that it won in 1995 and 14 in 1990. The 3 seats were in Bandau (Dr Max), Tanjong Aru (Dr Yee Moh Chai) and Tan Sri Pairin (Keningau). The trio was seen as the Flagship Carrier of PBS.
