KUALA LUMPUR, April 24 ― Education Minister Datuk Radzi Jidin and his two deputy ministers should resign over the lack of clear directives to schools on how to operate within the Covid-19 pandemic, Opposition MPs from seven political parties said today.
In a joint statement, the education committee of Pakatan Harapan and other Opposition parties also pointed out that the government’s promise of 150,000 laptops for students has yet to be fulfilled.

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 21 Seven Opposition MPs including former education minister Maszlee Malik, today chided the Ministry of Education (MoE) for its abrupt announcement last Friday to reopen schools from March 1.
In a joint statement, the MPs said the MoE should have planned better and refrained from issuing “conflicting” announcements that caused difficulty to parents who had significantly invested in equipment for online learning.

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 20 Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) Education Committee today slammed yesterday’s announcement by Education Minister Datuk Mohd Radzi Md Jidin that schools are set to reopen nationwide, starting March 1, calling it a “shocking” decision.
The committee urged the government to pay heed to the problems faced by both teachers and parents, especially those in Covid-19 red-zone areas, as well as movement control order (MCO) ones.
