KOTA KINABALU: One of Upko’s four vice-presidents, Lucas Umbul, has joined Sabah STAR which is led by Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan.
Lucas was seen getting initiated into the party in a live-streamed video on Sunday (March 7) where he explained why he wanted to join Sabah STAR. Also present was Jeffrey.
According to Lucas, he joined the party on his own free will.
He said among the reasons why he decided to follow Jeffrey was that he believed in his political cause and the fight for Sabah’s rights.
Lucas had led Upko’s Tenom division and contested for the Kemabong seat in last year s Sept 26 state elections but he lost to Rubin Balang, who contested as an independent. ....
