KOTA KINABALU: Two fishermen were detained by Lahad Datu Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) on Tuesday (May 4) for suspected fish bombing activities.
Lahad Datu Maritime Zone director Commander Abdul Muhaimin Mohammad Salleh said the duo were caught around 4.30pm at 0.7 nautical miles south of Pantai Sungai Merah in the district, following a tip-off. A patrol boat went out to do surveillance and upon reaching the location, our vessel traced an unnumbered pump boat with two men on board acting suspiciously. When they were approached, the suspects jumped into the sea to escape, but the authorities were able to apprehend them.
