Commissioners announce bid awards By Patrick Keck - [email protected] SCIOTO The Scioto County Commissioners convened on Thursday for its regularly scheduled meeting, announcing the bid awards for several county projects among its 21 items. At the approval of Scioto County Engineer Darren LeBrun, the board announced the awarded groups for the concrete and grout material, emulsion, cutback, and primer materials, and aggregate material projects. Tow Path Ready Mix received the concrete and grout material award, while Marathon Petroleum won the emulsion, cutback, and primer materials award. Hanson Aggregates and Latham Limestone split the award for the aggregate material. For the development and maintenance of the Scioto County Economic Development website, Appalachian Marketing and Media received the award at the recommendation of Director Robert Horton. ....

It was determined that students could register to go directly to District Science Day (without needing to participate in their own school’s Science Day or in County Science Day). The South Central Ohio Service Center’s Gifted Services Department offered to pay all registration fees for students to participate in District Science Day as a way of encouraging students to take part in this event. Students were required to create video presentations of their projects, submit research papers, and register with the Ohio Academy of Science in order to participate. Videos ....
