Three friends on a Christmas night out in Ballymote who were all subsequently arrested by gardaí were before Sligo Circuit Court charged with engaging in threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour. The court heard one man was injured and had to be brought to hospital by ambulance. Gerard Pilkington (56), of Kilshalvey, Gurteen, Co Sligo, Kevin Muldoon (52), of 25, Castleburn, Ballymote and Thomas Barrett (49), of Ballysungahan, Sooey, Co Sligo were charged with the offence on December 23, 2019 at Grattan Street, Ballymote, Co Sligo. All three had earlier pleaded guilty, the court heard. Judge Sinead Ní Chúlacháín was delivered sentencing in the case at Sligo Circuit Court on Thursday last.
