Josephine, or Josie as she was called, knew each client and their loved ones by name, her son said.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, she adjusted. She installed Plexiglas dividers, added an air purifier and required face coverings at the office. Still, Josie and her husband, Albert Gonzalez, who worked with her, contracted the virus at the office in mid-January, the family suspects.
