Article content A group of Grade 7 and 8 students at Beaver Brae Secondary School applied in-class learning to lend a helping hand to some of Kenora’s newest residents. Jocelyn Dockerty’s class has been reading Alan Gratz’s book “Refugee”, which follows the story of three different children seeking refuge during three different time periods. The book tells of Josef, a Jewish boy living in 1930s Nazi Germany, Isabel, a Cuban girl seeking refuge in the U.S. in 1994, and Mahmoud, a Syrian boy attempting to reach Europe in 2015.
