DARIEN Library officials said the facility will be closed Thursday due to staff members testing positive for COVID-19. The library will be closed through at least March 10.
The library tweeted Thursday morning that it would be closed in order to complete contact tracing and sanitizing.
“The health and safety of our community and patrons is our top priority,” the tweet said.
Director Kiera Parrott said the library has four cases among the staff and said she is meeting with the Darien Department of Health on Thursday for guidance on when it may be safe to reopen. ....

Town of Darien COVID Update: Schools, Vaccine, Case Data

In her most recent community COVID update, Darien First Selectman Jayme Stevenson said that 81 cases and one new hospitalization have been reported in the two-week period since January 15th. There are 981 aggregate cases from 669 unique households.

According to Stevenson, Darien Public Schools report 33 active cases resulting in 157 quarantines. 8th and 12th graders returned to full in-person learning on Monday, 1/25. It’s anticipated that grades 7 and 9 will return on February 8th and grades 6, 10 and 11 will return on March 1st. The return to full in-person learning is subject to change and requires students, families and our community to continue diligence with wearing masks and distancing from non-household members. ....
