DANVILLE, Va. — To get ready and safe for the school year, Averett University partnered with Virginia Department of Health (VDH) to hold a COVID-19 testing clinic on Aug. 20
On Friday, community organizations and volunteers rallied together for another first dose COVID-19 vaccine clinic, this time at the new location of the former JCPenney location at the Danville Mall.
The Virginia Department of Health, Sovah Health, City of Danville, Pittsylvania County, Averett University, Danville Community College, the Danville Fire Department and more partnered to make Fridayâs event happen. From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.,158 volunteers worked to make sure 1,200 citizens received their vaccines.Â
The addition of the former JCPenney store as a location for vaccines comes with several benefits, including the space to vaccinate 3,000 people in a twelve hour clinic if provided vaccine supply.Â
