MADISON, Wis. Leave it to the community to raise one Dane County senior up this holiday season after a series of tragedies nearly broke her spirit.  
To bring Irene Alexander a bit of comfort and joy, a team of a hundred plus laborers are working around the clock to complete renovations on the senior s east side bungalow.
I try to keep from crying, but the tears may flow, Alexander said sitting in the Concourse Hotel where she is staying complimentary until the home remodel is finished this Friday.
The great-grandmother s 2020 was beyond difficult.  
I was so saddened, so down-hearted, she said.  The senior lost her brother-in-law, nephew, her husband and her great-granddaughter Anisa Scott to gun violence. ....
