Another vehicle stolen from Hoboken streets when driver left it running, unattended: police
Updated May 03, 2021;
Another motor vehicle left running and unattended was stolen in Hoboken recently, prompting police there to issue another warning that it’s illegal and dumb to leave your vehicle running and unattended.
The April 24 report that a van was stolen after it was left running and unattended at Third and Jackson streets is the seventh time this year drivers have had to make the call of shame to police, Hoboken authorities said.
In this case, Freddy A. Mauricio, 37, of Bayonne, was arrested after the van was found a short time later at First and Monroe streets, Lt. Danilo Cabrera said. Mauricio who was taken into custody on April 28, was charged with theft and unlawful taking of means of conveyance, but the driver could be charged, too.
