The first long-term care residents will also be vaccinated that day.(Nova Scotia) The province will begin to vaccinate long-term care residents for COVID-19 on Monday. In Friday s news conference, Dr. Robert Strang, the province s chief medical officer of health, said residents of Northwood s Halifax and Bedford locations will be immunized next week. Strang said the time frame for beginning long-term care immunization has been sped up after working closely with Northwood. Everybody is understanding the urgency of this, Strang said at the news conference. So it s good news. ....

HALIFAX Nova Scotia reported four new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, all identified in the province s Central Zone. Nova Scotia Health Authority’s labs completed 2,232 Nova Scotia tests on Tuesday. Of the four new cases, three are close contacts of previously reported cases. The fourth case is under investigation. With six previously identified cases now considered resolved, the number of active cases in the province has dropped to 55. Nova Scotia’s daily new COVID-19 cases have been in the single digits since Dec. 5.
