Marking a groundbreaking development, Jewish Family Services of Union County announced recently that they have officially partnered with the new Tomchei Shabbos program that had already been quietly operating in the Elizabeth, Hillside and Springfield communities. “To my knowledge, it is the first time in New Jersey anywhere, that a Jewish Family Service Agency is partnering with a Tomchei Shabbos,” reported Heidi Pikarsky, of JFS Central.
LONG HILL TWP. - The season was made a little brighter, both literally and figuratively, thanks to the parks and recreation departmentâs inaugural holiday house decorating contest.
The recreation department, partnering with the Long Hill Chamber of Commerce, invited residents and businesses to put their holiday spirit on full display through outdoor decorations.
Santa Claus, aka Long Hill Fire Prevention Official Don Huber, took a break from his pre-Christmas preparations Tuesday night, Dec. 22, to offer early presents and congratulations to this yearâs winners. Visiting each location, Santa was joined in the merry motorcade by Recreation Director Lisa Scanlon, recreation assistant Danielle McLeer and Chamber of Commerce President Michelle Cavett.
