Unvaccinated urged to consider attending virtual dawn masses

(File photo) MANILA - Unvaccinated individuals may want to reconsider physically attending the traditional dawn masses (Simbang Gabi) that will begin December 15, Malacanang said on Wednesday. Acting Presidential Spokesperson, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said unvaccinated individuals may want to consider attending virtual Simbang Gabi instead to minimize the risk of catching Covid-19. "Sa mga hindi pa po bakunado, mas mainam po na mag-attend na lang po ng online or virtual Simbang Gabi; mas mainam po magpabakuna na po tayo (To those unvaccinated, it is better if you attend online or virtual Simbang Gabi; but it is better to get vaccinated)," he said in a Palace press briefing. Meanwhile, Nograles reminded vaccinated devotees attending dawn masses to continue observing minimum public health standards. Quiapo Church releases schedule of localized 'Traslacion'

(PNA file photo) MANILA - The Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene, commonly known as the Quiapo Church, has released the schedule of visits of the image to different parts of the country. In a video message released by the basilica late Tuesday afternoon, Fr. Douglas Badong, parochial vicar, said the "localized Traslacion" has been expanded to prevent the influx of devotees on the feast day of the Black Nazarene on January 9. The traditional dressing of the image was held at the shrine of the basilica the other day.
In a reflection posted at the Radyo Veritas website, Quiapo Church parochial vicar Rev. Fr. Danichi Hui said that the dressing ritual marked the initial preparation for the  feast.
“Ang Kanyang damit ay tanda at paalala sa atin. Ang kulay pulang kasuotan ay pagpapakita ng pag-ibig habang ang mga bulaklak at dekorasyon ay paalala ng Kanyang pasyon, paghihirap, at pagpapakasakit alang-alang sa sangkatauhan,” he said.
