STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. I had seven costume changes and high energy dances in a three hour block. It was tiring, to say the least.
Before the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, large regional dance competitions would take place over a three-day span. Dressing rooms used to be packed with suitcases lining the walls, dancers would be practicing routines in the hallways of large high schools and other performance venues, and the audience was packed with friends and family. ....
