80s for the valleys. all right, let s check the roads with elizabeth. heads up, the long holiday weekend is bringing a major freeway closure northbound 280. we have dealt with the southbound 280 closure. we had that earlier. now this time it s the northbound lanes closed between 101 and king street. begins tonight around 9:00. and then lasts until monday morning. they are hoping to re-open it just in time for the monday morning commute. in the meantime, police officers will be around directing traffic and confused drivers. there s also two giants games during the closure tonight at 7:15 and then another one tomorrow during the day. so just a heads up. it could cause traffic tie-ups. hopefully not a total nightmare around city streets in san francisco. but 101 is the best alternate. south bay, 60 miles per hour through downtown san jose, guadalupe parkway, 101 all look good. that s your latest kcbs traffic. back to you guys. thank you. right now, california s big ....
in pope valley. it exploded into a massive wildfire and jumped several roads and burned five buildings. it is burning in both napa and lake counties. and from its behavior so far, it is proving as you can see very dangerous. ask. we are seeing fires burn with intensity that we typically see later in the year. you add weather conditions, hot temperatures, low humidities, strong winds and fires are going to burn much faster than this one today. reporter: as far as the evacuations, most of the homes that were evacuated are in the berryessa estates subdivision that is in pope valley. there are two shelters set up, one at middletown high school and the other at pope valley road at pope valley school. so we are waiting again for cal fire to get a better look at exactly where the lines are drawn right now. the problem that they have been having is a lot of these little spot fires. we were driving in some of these windy mountain roads and you can see a lot of little fires p ....

shooting. no arrests. the oscar grant case has been back in the headlines because his father testified in a civil suit against former bart officer former bart officer johannes mehserle a crazy attack on a liquor store clerk in the south bay. a guy throws bottles as the clerk tries to fend him off with a garden tool. kpix 5 s len ramirez with what what led up to the attack. reporter: a viral video known as the booze run good bad happened last week at this liquor store on bascomb avenue in san jose. it starts with the robber grabbing cigarettes and a whiskey bottle. he argues with the clerk, then grabs a case of beer. he reaches for another bottle of liquor and holds it up threatening the clerk. then the fight is on. the man throws two liquor bottles at the clerk who then comes back swinging with a garden hoe. while the man throws more bottles, the clerk hits the robber and breaks open the case of beer. the man beats the clerk back with his fists. the video ends there ....
