MILFORD, CT - (From Cody-White Funeral Home) Amalia Bobrovszky, 94, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Norbert Bobrovszky, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2021.
Amalia was born on June 19, 1926 in Komarom, Czechoslovakia to the late Janos and Helen Molnar.
Amalia married her betrothed Norbert and lived in Felsogod, Hungary; and were blessed with their daughter, Ilona. After the Russian invasion of Hungary, they fled their home and possessions and left on foot on a harrowing journey until they reached Austria and freedom. As refugees they migrated to a new life in the United States, arriving in the USA aboard the USNS General Leroy Ettinge during the early morning hours of January 1st 1957.
